Early Scent Introduction

Early Scent Introduction (ESI) is used to introduce new scents to puppies on day 3-16 of life. Studies have shown that this helps improve:
1. Scent Awareness
2. Build Confidence
3. Stronger adrenal glands
4. More tolerance to stress

The Process:

ESI requires handling the puppies one at a time at age 3-16 days old. The handler starts with one pup and stimulates by holding the new scent in front of the pup for 5 seconds. The handling of each pup once per day involves the following scents:

  • DAY 3 – Soil

  • DAY 4 – Pine Shavings

  • DAY 5 – Cinnamon

  • DAY 6 – Star Anise

  • DAY 7 – Lavender

  • DAY 8 – Black Tea

  • DAY 9 – Tennis Ball

  • DAY 10 – Coconut

  • DAY 11 – Leather

  • DAY 12 – Rabbit

  • DAY 13 – Chamomile

  • DAY 14 – Alpaca

  • DAY 15 – Cloves

  • DAY 16 – Lemongrass
