Years in the making, following a passion and a dream.

Where it Began

Hi, I’m Brittany Demro, and here’s the journey that has shaped my passion for dogs, horses, and the legacy I’m proud to continue.

From a young age, my life has always been intertwined with animals, especially dogs. Growing up in a family devoted to raising happy, healthy dogs, I was immersed in their care from the start. Whether it was helping with feeding, playing, or assisting with training, my passion for animals was nurtured early on.

As I grew older, my love for dogs led me to compete in 4-H and AKC events. These experiences taught me valuable lessons about dedication, discipline, and the art of dog training. I learned firsthand the importance of proper care, socialization, and what it takes to raise well-rounded, joyful puppies. This foundation has fueled my lifelong commitment to animals and their well-being.

Over time, my role in our family’s dog care evolved to include the special attention required for older dogs. I became particularly focused on ensuring they stayed healthy, active, and loved in their later years. From maintaining proper nutrition to adapting exercises that kept them both mentally and physically engaged, I learned the importance of detailed care at every stage of a dog's life.

This commitment to care took on an even deeper meaning when my dad was deployed. Watching the bond between him and our dogs showed me just how powerful these animals can be. They provided him with comfort, loyalty, and a sense of calm during some of the toughest times. It was a poignant reminder of the emotional support dogs offer, not just in daily life but in moments of hardship. Witnessing their impact on my dad's mental health solidified my belief in the profound connection between humans and animals, and it continues to inspire the work I do with dogs today.

My love for animals didn’t stop with dogs. I’ve also had a deep connection with horses, which inspired me to pursue degrees in horse training and management. These opportunities opened a whole new world of training methods, ideas, and possibilities—both for equine and canine. I launched my own horse training business, driven by a passion to work with and understand these majestic animals. Unfortunately, an injury forced me to step back from that path, but it allowed me to focus more on dogs and the bond I share with them.

I also had the opportunity to serve as head trainer and kennel manager for Ridge View Labradors, a role that taught me a great deal about the Labrador breed and furthered my education in dog training. The experience expanded my knowledge and skill set, solidifying my dedication to raising and training well-rounded, healthy dogs.

In 2016, Twisted Clovers LLC was born and since 2020 I have been raising my own Labrador Retrievers.

Continuing a Legacy

As much as my love for dogs began in childhood, it has deepened through the years, especially through the guidance of my grandmother. She has been a mentor to me, teaching me more about the Labrador breed and the standards that uphold its excellence. Under her care at Charm Labradors, I learned the importance of genetics, pedigrees, and ethical breeding practices. My understanding of dog sports and how Labradors excel in these areas also grew through her experience.

With my grandmother now stepping back from handling the dogs, I’ve taken on a larger role in the day-to-day care, breeding practices, and operations. Her passion for the breed has been passed down to me, and I continue to benefit from her guidance as she remains actively involved. As we move forward, I am merging Charm Labradors with my own kennel, Twisted Clovers Labrador Retrievers, to build on her legacy while bringing in my own vision and innovations to further the success of the breed and these amazing blood lines.

Today and Tomorrow

As I look to the future of Twisted Clovers Labrador Retrievers, my focus remains on growth through ethical breeding practices and a deep commitment to purpose-driven breeding. Every dog in my program is carefully selected, not just for their beauty or pedigree, but for their health, temperament, and ability to meet the highest standards of the Labrador breed. All of my breeding dogs pass the necessary clearances and health tests to ensure they are sound, healthy, and capable of producing well-rounded, robust puppies.

I take pride in breeding dogs that are not only exceptional family companions but are also capable of excelling in various working roles. My program is built on titled, proven parent dogs that exemplify the Labrador breed standard in both form and function. Whether in the show ring, on the field, or as loyal family members, my dogs are bred to thrive in their roles.

A special focus of my breeding program is on Service Dogs and Therapy Dogs. Many of my breeding pairs have already contributed to this important work, producing puppies with the temperament, intelligence, and trainability required for these roles. Moving forward, I am excited to continue refining this aspect of my program, helping to produce dogs that make a meaningful impact on the lives of the people who need them most.
